Volunteers and Students at Elson Infant School

Volunteer poster

We really appreciate the time our volunteers are able to give Elson Infant School. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact the school office on 02392 581 208  / [email protected].

In order to comply with our legal obligations we will ask you to complete a volunteers application form, a childcare disqualification declaration form, and a rehabilitation of offenders declaration form. Our volunteers are DBS checked before coming into school to work with the children.

We have put together a few handy hints and pointers to help you feel at home and understand the school.

If you are a volunteer Mrs Page our Head of School is your first point of call – Mrs Page deals with placing volunteers around the school and will able to answer any queries you may have.  For students, this will be the teacher of the class in which you have been placed.

Mrs Julie Baker, Office Strategic Lead, deals with the safeguarding and other organisational matters.  As part of becoming a volunteer or student we ask that you read and sign our Volunteers in School Agreement and make sure you have read our Health & Safety for Visitors  leaflet.

Our class teacher/s and teaching assistants will also help you with any questions or concerns you may have.

Pictures of all the staff are located in the entrance hall and also on our website.  The easiest way to reach our website is to put ‘Elson Infant School’ into Google and then click on the first entry.  Here you will also find more information about our school as well as some of our School Policies.  In particular we would ask that you read our Vision, Aims and Values and Behaviour Policy.

Thank you for joining us at Elson Infant School.  We value all the help we have in school highly.

Please remember the teacher and teaching assistant of the class you are supporting will guide you with tasks and also be there to help you with any questions or queries you might have.
