Safeguarding
Our safeguarding policies and procedures ensure that every child, regardless of their age, disability, race, religion or belief, has a right to equal protection from harm. Safeguarding is the aciton we take to promote the welfare of children and protect them from harm.
What is Safeguarding?
- Protecting children from abuse and maltreatment
- Preventing harm to children’s health or development
- Ensure children have safe and effective care
- Take action to enable all children to have the best outcomes
- Child protection is part of the safeguarding process. It focuses on protecting individual children identified as suffering or likely to suffer significant harm
What parents can do if they have a concern
If you have any concerns about a child’s welfare, please talk directly to one of our school Designated Safeguarding Leads. If you have a safeguarding concern or allegation related to the leadership of the school, you can contact the Local Authority Designated Officers (LADO): 01962 876364
Our Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSL)
CPOMS’s
We use CPOM’s as an online tool to record any safeguarding concerns we might have and this is accessed by all of our teachers and LSA’s.
Newsletters
Every week we send out a newsletter which links to an important safeguarding element in the KCSIE (Keeping Children Safe in Education) and they are shared with all of our staff, including governors. We ensure these elements are shared in our weekly meetings and we give the staff the chance to discuss the different scenarios to remind ourselves of what we need to be doing in each situation.
Policies
All Safeguarding and Child Protection policies including Safeguarding, E-safety, and Child Protection are all available on our Policies page.

For anti bullying week Mrs Parkinson prepared an assembly to support the children to understand what bullying means to us, how something small can turn into something hurtful and what we can do to stop bullying. The children discussed this topic all week and took part in further activities in their classroom.
Odd Socks Day is part of Anti-Bullying Week. Odd Socks Day sends an important message to pupils that they should be allowed to be themselves free from bullying, and helps us to celebrate Anti-Bullying Week in a fun and positive way. We loved seeing the children wearing colourful odd socks!
Below is an example of our safeguarding poster which is used with the children to support them to know what they can do and who they can talk to if they have a worry or concern.
